Albert Rance
1861 –1920

Unmarked grave Albert Rance (1861-1920)

Albert was born in 1861 at Water End, Hemel Hempstead to labourer William Rance and his wife Eliza.

Between at least 1871and 1881 he lived with his family in Ellesmere Road and was a employed as a printer’s labourer

Albert married Elizabeth Garment in 1888 in Berkhamsted. (They were to have one child who had died by 1911.)

In 1891 the couple lived in Charles Street and Albert was employed as a printer’s machine man.

In 1901 they were at 35, Charles Street and Albert was a printer’s labourer. Living with them were his in-laws James and Rebecca Garment and his aunt Eliza Bunn.

By 1911 the couple were living along at number 35 and he was still a printer’s labourer.

Albert died at home in July 1920 aged 59.
