Plot 887 Alice Chandler (née Townsend)

Alice was born c1853-5 in Terrington, Norfolk, but none of the census records show which one -  St John or St Clement. Both are close to King’s Lynn.

She married Walter Thomas Chandler in London in 1875 and their son and only child Walter John William was born 1881 in Notting Hill.

In both the 1891 and 1901 censuses the family are shown living at  237, Grays Inn Road, London. Walter was a coffee shop keeper. They employed two live-in domestic servants

When Walter retired they moved to 16, Clarence Road, Berkhamsted where they were recorded in the 1921 census.

Alice died in January 1931 aged about 78. She was buried 22 January. Walter only survived her by a few weeks and was buried here with her in March.
