Amy was born 23 June 1880 in Neithrop, a parish attached to Banbury, Oxfordshire, to Henry and Sarah (née Mander) Sansom. Her father was a warehouseman and she was the first of their eight children.
She married Charles Norwood, a gardener born in Berkhamsted, on August 9 1903 at Christ Church, Banbury.
Their five children were all born In Berkhamsted: Flora Ada May (1905), Frederick George Charles (1906), Albert Edward (1907), Henry Ernest (1910) and Lily (1911).
In 1911 they were living at 9, High Street.
The June 1921 census records Amy as a widow and an inmate of the Union. Her occupation is noted as “domestic servant.”
By 1939 she was living at 15, Highfield Road and died in West Herts hospital in February 1940 aged 59.
