Ann was born in Berkhamsted in 1820 to Fanny (née Grover) and John Winter. She was baptised in St Peter’s 11 February 1821. Her father was an agricultural labourer.
In 1841 the family were living at Waterside, Berkhamsted.
Ann married Daniel Halsey, an agricultural labourer, in Berkhamsted in 1849 and in 1851 they were living in Grubbs Lane.
In the censuses of 1861 and 1871the were recorded living in a yard off the High Street. Ann was working as a laundress and continued to do so after Daniel’s death in 1880.
At some point Ann moved to Victoria Road where she died 25 November 1886, aged 65, and is buried here with Daniel.
