Arthur Vercoe

ARTHUR LEONARD VERCOE; 1901 – 1902

Arthur was the sixth of nine children[1] born to Henry and Mary Vercoe.  Henry Vercoe was a warehouseman and later foreman who worked for Coopers sheep dip business. In 1901 when Arthur was born, Henry was also a publican, holding the licence to the Black Horse.

Arthur was born in the first quarter of 1901, but was the only one of Henry and Mary’s children who did not survive infancy. He died in October 1922 at the age of 21 months and was buried in Rectory Lane Cemetery.
