Martha was born in 1871 in Hemel Hempstead.
In 1901 she was a patient at the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital, Margate, described as having “no occupation”. It is likely that she was suffering from TB as the hospital, first founded in 1791 “pioneered the use of open-air treatment for patients with non-pulmonary tuberculosis. Patients received a variety of treatments, with a central focus on providing patients with the supposed clinical benefits of sunshine, fresh air and sea bathing.” [Wikipedia]
Martha died in January 1903 in Kitsbury Road, aged 32.
