Elizabeth Blaby (née Cook) (1825-1870)
Elizabeth was born 1825 at Grendon Common, Warwickshire, the daughter of William Cook, a collier.
She married Henry Blaby, a widowed collier, at Baddesley Ensor, the adjoining parish, 24th September 1849. Elizabeth’s occupation was given as “servant”.
Their daughter Mary Ann was born 1854 in Baddesley, as was Betsy (1855). By 1860 they had moved to Berkhamsted where Henry (1860), John Joseph (1865) and Edith Louisa (1868) were born.
The family lived at the coal yard wharf at the end of Castle Street where Henry worked as a coal labourer.
Elizabeth died in 1870. Henry survived her until 1881 and is also buried in this cemetery as is their grandson Luke William Blabey (1871-1912), son of Mary Ann.
