Emily was born 10 July 1891. It had not been possible to trace her parents or early life.
In 1934 she married Frederick Dukes, a widowed railway clerk, in Darby.
They moved to 57, Greenway West, Berkhamsted by the time of the 1939 Register. Emily was a patient in West Herts Hospital at the time the Register was compiled.
She died in West Herts hospital in May 1941 aged 49 and was buried 12 May.
Frederick survived her until 1945 and is buried in an unmarked grave in this cemetery.
