Ethel Dwight
Unmarked grave Ethel Lavinia Dwight (née Lacey) (1887-1931)
Ethel was born 1886 in London, the daughter and middle child of John Lacey a boot riveter, and his wife Emma. Both her parents had been born in Chesham and by 1891 they were living there again.
In the 1901 census Ethel, aged 15, was still living at home with her parents, but was employed as a domestic servant.
She married Frederick Dwight in 1908 in Chesham and their daughter Ruby Winifred was born in 1910.
At the time of the 1911 census they were living in Chesham Bois and Frederick was a “machine boot finisher”.
Sadly Frederick died in 1914 aged only 27 and in 1919 Ethel was living at 29, Kitsbury Road. Emma and Fred Latchford were at the same address.
In 1921 Ethel was a live-in general domestic servant to family of Mr and Mrs Greenstreet of Stoneycroft, Berkhamsted. Ruby, aged 11, was living with her which must have made life much happier for them both.
By 1929 she was back living at 29, Kitsbury Road again with Emma Latchford. Ethel died in 1931 aged 44 and was buried 27 January 1931.
