Frederick was born 22 October 1878 in Cross Oak Road, Berkhamsted to Thomas Ludlow, a wheelwright born in Aylesbury, and his wife Elizabeth (née Deal), born in Essex. He had three older brothers and a younger sister.
His mother died in 1889 when he was eleven
By 1901 Frederick was working as a clerk for Lane’s Nurseries and he remained with them for the rest of his life.
He married Matilda Elizabeth Walker from Hudnall in 1907 and in 1911 they were living at 20, Shrublands Avenue.
Cyril Osmond Frederick was born in 1911. Twin daughters, Barbara and Joan were born and died within two days in March 1920. They were buried here in the same coffin.
In 1921 Frederick was the Managing Clerk at Lane’s Nurseries and he and Matilda lived at
45,Shrublands Avenue.
Frederick died in West Herts hospital in February 1925 aged only 46.
Matilda survived him until 1962.
His father and his step-mother are buried in this cemetery. It is likely that his mother is also.
