George was born 12 February 1891 in Bovingdon, the son of Thomas William and Martha Ann Dancer. His father was a labourer.
It has not been possible to trace George’s early life or career. He married Siberetta Elliott in 1924 in Berkhamsted and they lived at 12, Mill Street.
George died in Hill End hospital aged 48 in April 1937. Hill End had been built in 1900 near St Albans as an asylum for mentally ill patients. By the time that George was there it housed over 1,200 patients.
George was buried 21 April 1937.
In 1943 Siberetta remarried to Arthur J Badrick.
