Henry was born in 1883 in Berkhamsted to Harry and Amelia (née Davis) Cox.
Harry had an elder brother and sister and two younger sisters and two younger brothers. Their father was a general labourer and the family lived at 32, Ellesmere Road.
In 1901 Harry jnr., aged 17, was a journeyman baker.
He died in March 1903 aged 19 in West Herts Infirmary and was buried 21 March
