Plot 953 James Dennis (1897-1924)

James was the son of Alfred and Eliza Dennis. His father was a grocer’s assistant.

James and his twin brother Harry were born in April 1897 at home in Ravens Lane and baptised 28 April that year. Sadly little Harry died aged only 6 weeks.

In 1901 the family lived at 164, High Street and in 1911, when James was attending school, they were at 7, Clarence Road.

James never married. He lived with his parents and by 1921 was employed as a municipal clerk working with the Town Clerk.

He died 23 June 1924 at home at 21 Charles Street aged 27.
