John was born 16 April 1867 in St George’s parish, City of London to William Nightingale a “glass bender”.
At the time he married Emma Walton on 16 September 1888 in Christchurch, Southwark he was employed as a bottle cap maker.
William was born in 1890, in Holborn, followed by John (1892), Rose (1894), Ethel (1896) and Lilian Elizabeth (1898).
In 1901 the family was living in Flat 14, Block 12, Peabody Buildings, Finsbury and John was a “Cardboard box cutter.”
Son Henry completed the family in 1903 and in 1911 they were living at 44, Matilda Street Islington. John was a cardboard box maker.
At some point he moved to Berkhamsted and died at 3, Meadow Road, 9 November 1943.
