Unmarked grave Kate Winter (1866-1910)
Kate was born in 1866 to unmarried Harriet Winter. Her father is unknown. Kate lived with her mother and many of her aunts and uncles in the High Street home of William and Maria Winter, her grandparents. Her grandfather died in 1869 and her grandmother in 1871.
In February 21 1873 Kate was admitted to Berkhamsted National School from Gossoms End Infant school.
Kate entered domestic service and in 1901 was a live-in general servant at 23, Cowper Road, Berkhamsted, the home of schoolmaster Joseph Hodges and his family. She died there in July 1910, aged 43.
Her grandparents and two of their children are also buried in this cemetery.
