Luke William Blaby (1871-1912)

Luke was born 1871, baptised 8th October 1871, at St Peter’s, the son of Mary Ann Blaby, a seventeen year old spinster.

In 1901 he was living with his mother and her husband John Potten, at 36, Highfield Road. No occupation is given for Luke. By 1911 Mary Ann was a widow and Luke, unmarried and working as a “coal carman”, was living with her and his half-brother Frederick Potten.

Luke died in 1912 aged forty one.

Luke’s grandparents Henry and Elizabeth Blabey also lie in this cemetery.
