Margaret’s life story has proved frustratingly difficult to trace. She was born in 1875
and, by the time she died at 34, Lower King’s Road, 24 April 1941, aged 66, she was a widow.
Her probate record reads: “Power Margaret D’Arcy otherwise Margarete Dorothea Josephine D’Arcy otherwise Dorothy Elsie…Administration to The Administrator of German Enemy Property…” This would imply that Margaret was born in Germany but so far nothing more has been discovered.
