Plot 871 Mary Ann Lines (née Young) (1835-1924)

Mary Ann was born 14 May 1835 Berkhamsted to James and Mary Young. Her father was a gardener.

She married Richard Lines 4 November 1855 in St Pancras Old Church, London.

The couple appear to have moved about as the birthplaces of their children show: Thomas Henry (1857 Northchurch), Mary Ann (1863, Berkhamsted), Albert Edward (1867), William Arthur (1870) and Clara (1877) born Chesham.

Richard worked as a wood turner, a labourer and a railway porter.

He died at 18, Ravens Lane in February 1912 and is buried here. Mary continued to live alone at that address until she died 1 December 1924.

Their son Thomas Henry (died 1937) is buried in plot 728 with his wife.
