Mary was born 12 February 1801 in Buckland, Bucks and baptised 24 May. She was the daughter of John and Mary Hatchett.
Mary married Charles Clarke, a master baker, in December 1821, Berkhamsted. At the time she was living in Northchurch.
Their eight children were all born Berkhamsted: William (c.1826), Thomas (1830), Ellen (1831), Joseph (1836), Henry (1837), John (1841), David (c.1842), Kate Emily (1845).
Mary died 17 August 1883 aged 82 and is buried here with Charles and their daughter Ellen who died in 1851.
Their sons David (died 1921) and Charles (died 1899) lie in Plot 590.
