Unmarked grave Mary Ann Hawkins (1850-1852)

Mary was born in January 1851. Her mother was Isabella Hawkins, an unmarried servant aged 18, born in Little Gaddesden, the daughter of a labourer.

In March 1851 mother and baby were inmates in the Union workhouse in the High Street and sadly little Mary Ann died September 1852, aged 18 months.

Isabella had another daughter, Fanny, out of wedlock in 1854 and later married canal labourer James Hancock. They had a large family together and she died in Bridge Street in 1891.
