Plot 264 Olive Maude Hull (née Haynes)

Olive was born 22 August 1878 in Forest Hill, Kent to William Jacob Haynes, a tea merchant, and his wife Ann. She was the fifth child of six.

In 1881 the family were living in Lewisham at 10, Westbourne Villas and by 1891 William had retired and was “living on his own means”.

In 1901 Olive was living with her parents and working as a teacher.

She married Harold Halsey Hull 18 June 1903 in Christ Church, Forest Hill and they were to have two childen: Lewis William Halsey (1910 Pyrford, Surrey) andEdith Joan (1911 Claygate, Surrey). Harry was a post office clerk.

In 1921 they lived at 13, Bernard Garden, Wimbledon.

Harry retired and the 1939 Register records them at47, Holywell Road, Studham, Beds. With them was her brother William J Haynes. (Their next door neighbour was one of Whipsnade’s elephant keepers.)

They must have moved soon after the Register was compiled as when Harold died 7 May 1940 his address was High Street, Berkhamsted.

Olive died 26 December 1965.
