Robert Bird
Unmarked grave Robert Bird (1838-1920)
Robert Bird has proved a mystery. We know from his entry in the burials register that he was 82 when he died, giving a year of birth of 1838.
At some point between 1911 and 1915 he became a lodger of Mrs Tompkins at 2, Station Road where he occupied a first floor bedroom and this is where he died in March 1920.
No other information has been found for him, but it seems unlikely from the absence of records that he was born, or spent his earlier adult life in Berkhamsted.
