Sarah Jane Parker was born on 4th April 1878 in Quainton, Bucks, the sixth of seven children. Her parents, Edmund and Emma (nee Cherry), were married in 1865 in Quainton, and were both from the village.  The Parkers were well established in Quainton, and can be traced back to the 1780s. In 1891, at just 14 years old, Sarah has moved out of the family home, although only as far as Quainton Post Office, where she is employed as a general domestic servant. In 1899 she married Frederick Charles Herbert Potter in Berkhamsted, where she lived for the rest of her life. See biography for FCH Potter for details of their life and children. Sarah died on 27th December 1946, pre-deceasing Herbert by 11 years, and is buried in plot 1037.
