Unmarked grave Sydney James (Sid) Clark (1872-1928)

Sydney was born at 29, Bower Place, Maidstone, Kent in 1872, the son of George, an engine driver, and Ellen Clark. He was baptised in the parish church 16 June.

Sydney became a carpenter and joiner and married Rosa King in Berkhamsted in 1899.

The couple were to have no children and appear to have lived their entire married lives at 63, High Street.

Rosa died in March 1928 aged 52 and was buried 6 March in this cemetery. Sydney survived her by only a few days and was buried 9 March, aged 55. It seems likely that the same infectious disease, possibly the influenza, was responsible.
