William Chapman
1860 –13/01/1948

William was born in 1869, the son of Charles and Matilda Chapman (also buried in Rectory Lane Cemetery). Like his father, William was a sawyer. He married Eliza in 1866 and they were married for 60 years. Their first son Ernest was born in Weston Turville, Buckinghamshire, but subsequent sons Sidney, Arthur John, Bertie and Frank and daughters Kate and Ethel Maud were born in Berkhamsted, and in 1891 they were living in Bridge Street, next to William’s parents.
