Unmarked grave William Winter (1795-1869)
William was born in 1795 in Berkhamsted to unmarried Sarah Winter. His father is unknown. He was baptised at St Peter’s 28 May 1812.
William became a gardener and married Northchurch girl and straw plaiter Maria Green in 1821.
They lived in the High Street for their entire married life and had twelve children.
William died in May 1869 aged 73.
Maria died in 1871 and is buried in this cemetery as are their daughter Harriet (1836-38), their son Joseph (1829-1901), their granddaughter Kate (1866-1910).
