Mary Ann Bligh married twice in her life, taking the surname Barnes and later Tyler.

She married Charles Barnes in 1855 at Tring. In 1861 they were living at Alma Place in Hemel Hempstead. Charles Barnes was described as an ostler.

Charles Barnes died 10th December 1864 aged 54.

Following Charles’s death in 1864, Mary Ann Barnes re-married a Henry Tyler, again in Tring. In the 1871 Census, they were living in Berkhamsted.  Henry, described as a publican, probably took over the license from Charles of the One Bell on the south side of the high Street, opposite the Crown.

Mary Ann Tyler died 2nd December 1873 aged 44

Charles Barnes was born c.1810 in Harpenden. In 1855, he married Mary Ann Bligh at Tring, In 1861 they were living at Alma Place in Hemel Hempstead. Charles Barnes was described as an ostler.
