Llangeitho, Wales
Llangeitho is a small village in Ceredigion (Cardiganshire), Wales, about 7 miles (11km) north of Lampeter and 150 miles (240km) west of Berkhamsted. This rural location was the birthplace of the evangelical preacher Daniel Rowland and was strongly associated with the Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Church.
The Thomas family who came to Berkhamsted in the 1860s originated from Llangeitho. Thomas Thomas the elder (1809–1881) became an important figure in Berkhamsted life, working as the postmaster general and Superintendent Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths.
