Build a Nest Box – 10-12.30 on Sun 18th, Scout Hut, Chapel Street
Just like us, birds’ thoughts turn to love on Valentine’s Day! Mid-February is the time that birds across the country begin to pair up or get back together for the forthcoming breeding season – and the search for a safe place in which to build a nest and raise a family begins.
We want to encourage more birds to create their family homes in the Rectory Lane Cemetery and are participating in National Nest Box Week (14-20 February). Join us, have some family fun and make your own nest box, assisted by 1st Berkhamsted Scout Group and Triple V Explorer Scouts.
When: 10.00 – 12.30 Sunday 18th February
Where: The Scout Hut, Chapel St, Berkhamsted HP4 2EA. Then, do join us at the Cemetery as we fix some of them on the trees ready for occupation!
How: We will provide the pre-cut wooden kits for self-assembly (using a hammer and nails), with assistance on hand
Who: Families – parents to be responsible for their children throughout.
Cost: If you decide to donate the finished nest box to the cemetery there would be no charge. If you wanted to take it away for your own garden, we would ask for a donation of £5.
To participate: Please email Campbellkate01@gmail.com so we know how many kits to provide.
