Plot 636 Albert Charles Figg (1907-1925)
Albert was born in Berkhamsted in 1907, the son of Frederick Figg who had been born in Marsworth, Bucks, and Rosa, born in Lambeth. They had been living in Berkhamsted since at least 1903 when their son Leonard was born. Elsie followed in 1905.
In 1911 the family were living at 14, New Street, Sunnyside. Frederick was a cutter for ladies’ tailoring, presumably at Corby, Palmer & Stuart’s mantle manufactory in Lower King’s Road.
Frederick’s mother Rosa died in August 1914 and he remarried to Ada Keeping in January 1916.
In 1921 the family lived at 60 Shrublands Avenue. Frederick was a foreman in the mantle cutting department at Corby, Palmer & Stuart’s mantle manufactory in Lower King’s Road and Elsie was a garment presser there.
Sadly Albert died 17 October 1925 aged only 19. His mother Rosa is also buried in this cemetery in an unmarked grave.
