Alice Gray was born 13 September 1896, but it has not proved possible to trace her early life.
She married Reginald Henry Kemp, a City of London police officer, in the second quarter of 1927 and they moved to Berkhamsted where their son Alan Reginald Charles was born 27 November that year.
Sadly, Reginald died 9 December 1927, aged only 33, and was interred at Kensal Green.
Alice appears to have remained in Berkhamsted and in 1939 was living at 245, High Street with widow Ellen E Green.
She died 18 July 1949, aged 53. Ellen Green died in 1953 and is also buried here.
