Unmarked grave Annie Louisa Gray (née Duncombe) (1875-1915)
Born 1875 in Berkhamsted, the daughter of William and Mary Ann (née Batchelor) Duncombe. She was baptised in St Peter’s 10 October that year. The family lived at 4, Water Lane and her father was a general labourer.
Elizabeth’s whereabouts after April 1881 have not been traced, but on 29 May 1898 her daughter Elizabeth Mary was baptised in St Peter’s. The name of the father is unknown.
Annie married Louis Charles Gray in Berkhamsted on 4 June 1900.
The 1901 census records them at 34, High Street. Louis was a foreman at a timber yard and Elizabeth Mary is shown as Elizabeth Gray.
Alfred Louis John was born in 1902, Charles Henry (born and died 1907), Florence Muriel (1908), Algernon Edward (1909) and Hilda Florence in 1910.
1911 they were still at number 34 and had a labourer as boarder. Margery E was born later that year.
Annie died in August 1915 aged 39.
