Plot 265 Arthur F Crossman (1873-1923)
Arthur was the second son of Joseph Gilchrist Crossman and his wife Mary Fairfax (née Atkins). He was born in Medmenham, Buckinghamshire 18 June 1873. His father was, at the time, a “gentleman farmer”.
In 1881 Arthur was a pupil at a boarding school in Reading and in 1891, aged 19, he was at home in Bedford, described as a scholar.
It has not been possible to trace any information about his subsequent career. He died 30 July 1923 in Ghanzi, Bechuanaland, South West Africa. (Now Botswana). He was buried there, but is commemorated here where both his parents are buried.
