Unmarked plot Eden Tompkins (1853-1900) (incorrectly indexed as Thompkins)

Eden was born in 1853 in Dagnall, Bucks.

He served in the 2nd Dragoon Guards from 1871 to 11 December 1882.

In 1888 Eden married widow Louisa Nash in Berkhamsted. Louisa had three daughters and a son by her late husband George Nash, a groom, and in 1881 was living in Provident Place.

In 25 November 1890 a daughter was born, but she may have died very young, as she does not appear in the 1891 census when Eden and Louisa were living in Provident Place with her children by her first marriage. Eden was a labourer at Cooper’s chemical works.

Eden died in September 1900, aged 46, in Victoria Road.
