Elsie Rhoda Fisher
Unmarked grave Elsie Rhoda Maria Fisher (1883-1939)
Elsie was born in 1883 Bristol. Her mother’s name was Maria Channing, but despite Elsie’s distinctive first names it has proved impossible to trace anything else of her early life until she married Frederick Fisher in early 1921.
Frederick was a gardener and they lived at 16, Gossoms End. In the June 1921 Census Frederick was a nurseryman with Messrs Lane, but out of work, and they were visiting her widowed mother at the Post Office, Hunton Bridge, Abbot’s Langley.
Elsie died in September 1939 at West Herts hospital aged 56. In the Register of that year newly-widowed Frederick was living at 17, Gossoms End, next to his father William at number 16. He was working as a self-employed jobbing gardener.
Her father-in-law William Fisher, who died at the age of 94 in 1941, also lies in this cemeteryin the cemetery
