Rectory Lane Cemetery, Berkhamsted

Emily Marriott (nee Bartrum) 1873-1904 Emily Bartrum was baptised at St Peters on 10th August 1873. She was the second child of William and Emma Bartrum (nee Bedford), who were married in Berkhamsted in 1868. She grew up in Highfield Road, and her father was a gardener. Emily married Frank Marriott at St Peters on 19th February 1898. She didn’t move very far, living at 18 Highfield Road. Frank worked as a brewer’s labourer. They had two children, Edward in 1900 and Annie a year later. Emily died in 1904. Frank remarried in 1908, to Mary Margaret Waters Phillips, with whom he had at least three more children. Margaret died in 1939 and is buried in Rectory Lane Cemetery. Frank survived her until 1951. His burial site is not known.
