Hannah Louisa Young (914)

HANNAH LOUISA YOUNG 1841 – 1919
Unfortunately, little has been discovered about Hannah’s life. She died in January 1919 at the age of 78 years. She was therefore born in either 1840 or 1841 in St Osyth in Essex.
We have no other information about Charlotte until 1901. She is named in the census as Louisa rather than Hannah. She was then visiting the home of Charlotte and George Bull and their children. Charlotte like Hannah was born in St Osyth and it is likely she was Hannah’s daughter.
The Bulls lived on in Clacton. Hannah was then aged 59 years and was widowed and was working as a monthly nurse, looking after mothers and new born babies after birth.
In 1911 Hannah was no longer working and was living with Charloote and George in their home in Clacton.
Hannah died in January 1919. Her address at the time of her death was recorded as 20 Cowper Road. The 1921 census reveals that Charlotte and her family were living at that address in 1921. Charlotte’s husband George was then working as a painter employed by D Harrowell & Son, so the family, including Hannah, must have moved to Berkhamsted sometime between 1911 and 1919.
