HENRY POCOCK: 1856 - 1902
Henry (Henery) Pocock was born in April 1856 in Berkhamsted to Thomas Pocock, age 39, and Mary Ann, née Day, age 40 years. Henry had six brothers and four sisters. He was christened on 8th June 1856. In 1861 the family lived at Highfield House, Berkhamsted, where his father worked as a groom.
In 1871 the family lived in Victoria Road. Henry was the 15 years old and working as a general servant. His mother died in March 1878 and some of his siblings had also died. In 1891, aged 34, Henry had started working as a painter and was living with his father, now 70 years old and working as a gardener, and his sister Mary Ann, a laundress.
In 1901 Henry was in a lunatic asylum where he remained until his death in 1902, aged 46. He was buried in Rectory Lane Cemetery.in the cemetery
