Kate was born in 1884 in Berkhamsted to Martha and William Armitt. Her father was a stoker and the family lived at 30, George Street.
She married Archibald O’Dell, a farm labourer born in Hemel Hempstead, in 1909. Mabel was born that year in Hemel and in 1911 they lived at 7, Cherry Bunce, Hemel Hempstead.
Archibald (1913), Leslie (1917) and George Harry (1921) were all born in Hemel Hempstead but by June 1921 the family had moved to 8, Canal Side, Berkhamsted where Kate died in June 1927 aged 43.
