Plot 479 Katherine Lydia Wood (1886-1951) Katherine was born 20 April 1886 in Berkhamsted to James and Ann (née Timson) Wood. (They are buried in plot 678) Her father was an iron worker who owned a substantial business in the town. Katherine never married and became a clerk In 1911 she was living with her widowed mother and sister at 14, Charles Street, Berkhamsted and was employed as a “Commercial clerk”. By 1921 she was living with her oldest sister Ida at 14, Charles Street. Katherine is described as Head of Household and was employed as a clerk by G. Knowles, millers at Castle Mill in Lower King’s Road. In 1939 she was head clerk to a corn merchant and had Timson relatives living with her at 71, Charles Street. Katherine died 6 May 1951 and was buried here with her sister Ida. Their brother John is buried with his wife in plot 1107.
