Louisa was born 21 May 1894 in Maldon, Essex. Her parents were Arthur Cunningham, a bus driver, and his wife Mary (née Carlick).
She had three elder brothers and one younger and a younger sister.
Louisa never married.
In 1911 she was employed as a domestic nurse in the household of Mr and Mrs Baker in Maldon, Essex. They had four children ranging in ages from 2 to 13 who were presumably Louisa’ charges.
In 1921 she was employed as a “useful maid” in the household of the widowed Mrs Iliffe who employed a cook, a housemaid and a parlour maid in addition to Louisa. Mrs Iliffe lived in some splendour in an eleven-roomed terrace house backing on to Regent’s Park.
The 1939 Register recorded Louise working as a children’s nurse at the Foundlings’ Hospital school. (Ashlyns)
She died at Back Lodge, the Foundling Hospital, aged 47, 1 May 1942 and was buried 14 May.
