Margaret Ann Hewlett (554)
Plot 554 Margaret Ann Hewlett (née Farquharson) (1864-1933)
Margaret was born in 1864 in Workington, Cumberland. Her father was Thomas Farquharson. Further details of her early life have not been traced, probably because of transcription errors and alternative spellings of her maiden name.
She married William George Hewlett, born in Cardiff, in the Cockermouth district in 1885.
It seems likely, from the 1911 census information, that they lost two children early in the marriage. Then Frederick William was born in 1899 in Bury, Lancs. William George jnr (1902), Margaret (1906) and Richard Farquharson (1910) were all born in Berkhamsted.
In 1911 the family were living at 11, Manor Street. George was a builder’s foreman for Cooper & Nephew in Ravens Lane
They were still there ten years later. George still worked for Cooper & Nephew, as did son Frederick who was a clerk.
Margaret died 11 October 1933 at 11 Manor Street aged 69.
