Mary Ann Whately
09/10/1821 –19/01/1892

Mary Ann Whateley was born in 1821. She was married to the honourable William Howard. After his death, she remarried, to surgeon George Frederick Whately, who practised in Berkhamsted from 1858. Mary and her family lived in the house opposite St Peter's Church, next door to Dean Incent’s House. Mary is commemorated along with George in a plaque in St Peter's which was erected by their 10 surviving children in 1892.
