Biography:
Sarah Howard
23/09/1894 –26/05/1956

Sarah Bone was born on 23rd September 1894 in Wilstone near Marsworth.  She had three sisters.

The 1921 census showed Sarah at 11, High Street Berkhamsted with her stepfather and mother.  She was 26 and working as a charwoman.  There were two grandchildren, Stanley Arthur Bone age 6 and Florence Ivy Bone age 3, at the same address.  It is possible that they may have been Sarah’s children.

The 1939 register showed that Sarah, who was now known as Alice, was a cook general for the family at The Pheasantries, Guillerd Farm, Bourne End, Berkhamsted.

Records show that Alice married a man called Henry Howard in first quarter 1940.

She died on 26th May 1956 in Hemel Hempstead hospital.
