William Wright
Unmarked plot William Wright (1826-1902)
William was born in 1826 in Chalfont St Giles, Bucks, to George and Fanny Wright. His father was a labourer.
He married Emma in Harefield, Middlesex, her home town, in 1857.
Their son William was born there in 1858, by which time William was a sawyer.
In 1861 the couple were still in Harefield. Daughter Emma was born that year and son Alfred in 1870.
By 1881 William was a widower living with his daughter Emma in Harefield but by 1891 he had moved to Berkhamsted to live with his son William, a grocer, and his family in Cross Oak Road. He was described on the census as an agricultural labourer.
The 1901 records him living with son William and his family at 187, High Street. William jnr was a grocer and lay pastor.
William died in May 1902 aged at 76, High Street, Berkhamsted.
