Rectory Lane Cemetery, Berkhamsted

Performance Area Canopy Faculty Application

As part of the enhancements to Rectory Lane Cemetery, it is planned to create a performance space with a visually striking new canopy in the form of an angel with outspread wings. It will be sited at the top of an area where there are no headstones to ensure activities fit in and around the memorials. The symbolism of the flying angel sculpture is inspired by the existing memorial sculptures in the cemetery, and also by Berkhamsted’s connection with JM Barrie, the author of Peter Pan.

The Faculty Application document (containing full details of the proposal), the site plan and Public Notice from the Consistory Court of the Diocese of St Albans (including contact details for any objections) can be downloaded below. If you have any questions or comments about these plans, please get in touch with the Rectory Lane Cemetery Project team.
