Rev. John Crofts, Rector of St Peter’s Church since 1810, dies in office. Crofts supported the establishment of Rectory Lane Cemetery and built the new Victorian Rectory at the top of the lane. The Churchwardens receive half monumental fees of Burial Ground £11.0.6d from late Rev. J. Crofts.
