Thomas was born in Berkhamsted in 1803 to Robert and Mary Rushworth and baptised in St Peter’s 12 September.

He married Martha Ivory in Hemel Hempstead 9 November 1830, by licence with consent of her father as she was under age.

Ann was born in 1832, followed by Emma (1833), Robert (1835), Sarah (1836), Thomas jnr. (1837) and James (1841).

In 1841 Thomas was a baker in Berkhamsted High Street.

He died in Berkhamsted 20 July 1847, aged 44. Martha continued as a baker.

She and their daughter Sarah are buried here.
