Phyllis was born 12 June 1907, although her place of birth and her parentage have not been established.

In 1934 she married Aneurin Brewer in Berkhamsted. Aneurin, who had been born in Wales, was a wood machinist and the couple lived at 29, Hazel Road.

The couple had three children: Gordon was born in 1936, Donald in 1937 and daughter Thelma in 1938.

Phyllis died in 1942 aged thirty five. Her son Gordon, who died in 2000, is buried here with her

Plot 995a Gordon Brewer (1936-2000)

Gordon was born 12 May 1936 in Berkhamsted, the son of Aneurin Brewer and Phyllis (née Griffin). Aneurin had been born in Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire, the son of a coal miner, but he had moved to Berkhamsted by 1934 when he married Phyllis.

At the time of the 1939 Register the family were living at 29, Hazel Road and Aneurin was working as a “wood machinist”. The household also included Gordon’s younger sister Thelma, born in 1938, and another person who has been redacted. (This is probably Gordon’s younger brother Donald).

He died 19 August 2000 in Camden and was brought back to lie here with his mother who died in 1942
