White marble stepped cross decked with a sculpted laurel wreath and the word “Peace”, upon a large square white marble plinth.

Inscription on the base of the cross:

In loving memory of
our dear boy
Reginal Walter Chennells
who fell asleep Oct 22nd 1926
aged 20 years

“Fondly we loved him, he is dear to us still
But meekly we bend to God’s holy will”

“At Rest”

 

Note: Another grave of the Chennells family of similar material exists in the graveyard of Holy Trinity Church in Potten End, 3 miles north-east of Berkhamsted, the burial place of Archibald, Mervyn, Jean and Lizzie Chenells.

Condition: good

Memorial was cleaned and restored in 2021.
